From the abstract

A system and method for the secure repository, holistic aggregation, and intelligence-assisted analysis of document-based legal evidence in a manner that renders hallucination detectable and non-cumulative, prevents contamination of analytical state across messages and across users, reduces attack surface arising from external integrations and accumulated state, and structurally enforces the role of human judgment in converting analytical output into a foundation for legal work product.

The five coordinated mechanisms

The invention combines five coordinated architectural mechanisms operating against a single tenant-isolated evidence repository:

1. Tenant-isolated evidence vault

A row-level-security-enforced repository in which all documents subject to analysis are stored. The vault is the single source of truth for the analytical layer, with retention semantics that survive subscription-state transitions.

2. Bounded architecture

The intelligence service is given no external tools, integrations, or outbound capabilities: no web search, no case-law APIs, no email access, and no document-management integrations. The boundedness applies functionally, not only corporately — the analytical layer has no handoff to drafting, summarization, or any other framing-shaped layer, internal or external. The bounded architecture serves an integrity function and a security function through the same structural commitment.

3. Database-layer zone classification

Every document is classified at ingestion into one of four zones — evidence, testimony, quarantine, or filing — by a multi-signal guard. The zone is stored as a database column; analytical queries are conditioned on zone at the schema level. The intelligence service cannot consider what the query does not return.

4. Stateless query architecture with source-tethered citation

Each query to the intelligence service is independent of every other query. No conversation history is transmitted. Every analytical claim carries a structured citation back to its source document. Provenance is preserved through every layer.

5. Lock-based workflow with append-only audit trail

Subsequent ingestions never modify locked analytical state automatically. Lock state is rendered as a visible documentary certification on every analytical artifact, including a Case Intelligence Report that synthesizes the holistic analysis of the entire case file.

A five-phase ingestion pipeline — chunk, analyze, merge, cross-reference, theorize — implements these mechanisms across heterogeneous document types in a litigation file.
